Structural data
The number of local units in Austria with registered lorries with a load
capacity of two tons or more or road tractors at December 31, 2011 declined
in the field of transport for hire or reward by 3.6% to 3 684 and in
the sector of transport on own account by 1.2% to 13 727 compared with
the reference date of the previous year. The number of those local units
where at least one bus was registered accounted for 1 203 at the end
of the year 2011
In the field of transport for hire or reward the stock of lorries (load capacity of 2 tons or more) dropped by 1.7% to 17 368
and the stock of road tractors by 1.4% to 11 827 while the number of
trailers rose by 1.9% to 26 683. The stock of lorries with a load capacity
of at least 2 tons used in transport on own account rose by 0.4% to 35 482 and the count for the road tractors
and trailers showed a rise of 2.0% to 4 915 respectively 10.3% to 20 387.
There were 9 547 buses registered at the last day of the year 2011
Concerning the cumulated load capacities there was a decline in the sector of transport for hire or reward of 1.0% to 195 524 tons. On the other hand was an increase of 1.5% to 312 342 tons registered referring to the transport on own account. The cumulated load capacities for trailers ascended in the sector of transport for hire or reward by 2.5% to 645 338 tons and in the sector of transport on own account by 9.2% to 377 892 tons.
