Self-employed persons are persons who work in their own business, professional practice or farm for the purpose of earning a profit, family workers are persons who help another member of the family to run an agricultural holding or other business, provided they are not considered as employees.
According to ILO definitions a person is considered to be employed if he or she worked for at least one hour in the reference week, or did not work due to holiday, illness, etc. but is normally in employment. Persons on long term absences as e.g. women on parental leave are included in the category of employed persons if they have a formal attachment to the job.
