Higher travel costs for overseas destinations; Austrians' purchasing power 40–70% above the level in Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary

So, the best value for money among a set of 28 analysed countries can be realised in Bulgaria and Romania. The decreasing purchasing power for overseas destinations is due to weak euro.

A total of 98 281 registrations of used motor vehicles were observed in April 2012, by 0.3% more compared to April 2011 and a decrease of 2.9% considering March 2012. Used passenger car registrations (73 294) increased by 1.7% as well. The number of diesel driven passenger cars achieved increases, petrol driven ones were on the decrease.

The annual inflation rate of the consumer price index (CPI 2010) was 2.3% in April. This was the lowest rate since December 2010 (2.3%). Based on the high price level one year before, the increase of mineral oil product prices was 8% and for food products 1.3%. The largest upward pressures to the change in inflation came from price increases for housing, water and energy (+3.4%) The all item index (CPI 2010) amounted to 105.8 in April.
