Geodata from Statistics Austria

Due to statistical requirements, Statistics Austria produces new geodata and updates older geodata on an ongoing basis. The results are available for download as PDF and JPG files on the website. Since no further use can be made of the data in a geoinformation system (GIS), however, this geodata is made available either free of charge or for a fee. Highly generalised data on a scale of 1:2 million and below is provided free of charge, while a fee is charged for the provision of data on a larger scale.

Terms of use

General legal guidelines and copyright regulations apply to geodata that may be used free of charge. In the event that a fee is charged for use of the data, two usage rights are available: "internal use" and "commercial use excluding resale". Details may be found in the terms of use for geodata. Please sign and forward the order form and terms of use when ordering geodata for which a fee is charged.

List of geodata

The geodata is available as shapefiles and tables in the form of dBase and text files. The projection of the data is MGI Austria Lambert (EPSG: 31287).
